“But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.”

    1 Timothy 1:5

  • Part 21: Why Are the Apostles So Encouraging? By Grace They Were Prepared

A good portion of humility is patience. Perseverance, as one of the key fruits of believers, is something that is wrought alongside of patience. Jesus taught His apostles to be patient and wait on God’s timing for everything.

  • Part 20: Why Are the Apostles So Encouraging? By Grace They Were Prepared

The reason the Bible frequently uses the concept “through faith” is because that is exactly how we are sanctified, whether positionally or experientially. Since faith is a grace gift, it cannot be planned, manufactured, or empowered by man on his own.

Settling In On the Big Picture

‘Seeing the forest through the trees’ is critical to understanding the very mind of Christ (1Co 2:16). Our Lord, Himself, sees a much bigger picture than we ever could (Ro 11:33); yet, it behooves us to seek His Truth, for this is freedom in Him (Jn 8:32 - “the truth will make you free”).

Daily Perspective

  • If both you and your child understand that something they've done is wrong, and you DON'T discipline them accordingly, the message you're sending is that you don't care. That hurts much worse than any discipline you could've doled out.

  • Ultimately, you have no control over tomorrow, so why not relax and enjoy today?

  • "Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen" (Romans 16:25-27).

  • "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing" (James 1:2-4)

  • You are not alone! (Deuteronomy 31:6, Psalm 138:9, Matthew 28:20)

  • "Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:17-18).
