OUTLINE:

False Profession of Faith
The Bible speaks profusely of false professors. We must accept the plain truth that God the Holy Spirit inspired many accounts of false profession for a reason.

The person who refuses to surrender to Jesus as his Lord and Savior has no other choice than to live a lifestyle of hiding/pretending... in a fleshly attempt to appease both man and God.

False Professors
Today’s so-called “Christian churches” are riddled with spiritually impotent people pretending to spread the good news about Jesus, yet, all they are equipped to DO is bring glory to themselves, their church buildings, etc.

Balance Statement
What I am NOT ever supposing is that I know exactly who I’m speaking to when I speak of false professors. The Bible tells me they exist, often in droves. (e.g. Mt 7:23; 25:31-41; 1Jn 2:19; 2Jn 1:7)

Let's Take Note
There is unrighteousness in the lives of false professors. We all sin, but false professors have a way of life that's unrighteous, and a lifestyle of not doing the will of the Father.

One's lifestyle reflects what's in the heart. It's NOT that anyone is saved BY their deeds, but that their deeds are a sign of what's in the heart; of one who has humbly surrendered to Jesus as Lord, or not.

Be On The Alert
Just because someone is truly passionate about what they believe doesn't make it right.

The PRACTICAL reality is that self-righteous people do NOT like to be “outed” by the Truth.

Many would rather remain a false professor living in self-deception, because they don't want to "lose their lives" and what they've built up (even though it's on sand!).

Lawyering Up
Was the lawyer in Lk 11:45 concerned about his life insulting God, or was he concerned about the life of God insulting him???

Jesus despises selfishness.

All Because Of "Self"ishness
The lawyers had frustrated others’ access to the Truth. Although they outwardly professed loyalty to the Word, inwardly they refused the One of whom Holy Scriptures spoke. Jn 5:39-40

Jn 5:37-47
These people were truly looking for a way to heaven on their own terms, to justify themselves, unwilling to surrender to the Lord as the only way to salvation.

The Burden of Life
The yoke of arrogance is impossible, depressing its wearers. Contrarily, Jesus’ yoke is “easy” and His “burden is light.” With God’s power, “all things are possible” (Mt 19:26); without it, nothing that brings glory to Him is possible. (Mt 11:30; 23:1-13; 1Jn 5:1-5)
