Our introduction to God’s grace is through mercy, not a cookie jar solution to our worldly woes.

2 things immediately worth noting:
1) High priests were “appointed”, not elected by men
2) Levitical high priests were sinners, so they had empathy for those whom they were representing during the Day of Atonement.
