KEY PRINCIPLES FROM THIS MESSAGE:
“test” – dokimazo – means “put to the test, prove, examine; distinguish by testing, approve after testing; establish fitness.”
We should never be afraid of putting things to the test.
Affirmation of good things is always good.
For a true believer in Christ, possessing an ‘assurance of faith’ is a wonderfully settling, heartfelt reality.
Assurance of faith is a beautiful gift from God to His children. It is how He extinguishes the malicious attempts of doubt to rob His beloved of an eternal joy that is theirs to cling to, always. Therefore, do not be afraid to put your faith to the test, knowing the outcome is a friendly reminder that God especially loves you.
This “better hope” (Heb 7:19) is the New Covenant made possible by the sacrifice of Christ once and for all (aka – the promise of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone).
A saved person is a grounded person.
