OUTLINE:
“with his wounds we are healed”
Jesus Christ was on a mission to pay the penalty for the sins of those who would be “healed”. The only people who are said to be healed in Holy Scripture are “we” believers. Therefore, “he was crushed for our iniquities” (“our” = the elect) and “the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all” (“all” = the elect).
Eph 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
“not counting their trespasses against them”
As was the case in Is 53, those who have their redemption price paid are believers only (“with his wounds we are healed” – Is 53:5); therefore, “their trespasses” is a reference to believers’ sins only, certainly not those who “die in their sins” (Jn 8:24).
Substitutionary, Sacrificial Death of Jesus Christ
A reference to the fact that Jesus Christ’s death was in the place of the elect.

Faith
Faith is the device God gives us that bridges the gap between His decree and man’s limited ability to understand the whole of it.
1Co 3:6-7
I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
Ecc 12:13 -14
The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Ro 8:29-30
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, who is God incarnate, humbled Himself to die on our behalf. Thus, He became the sinless sacrifice to pay the penalty of our guilt. He rose from the dead to declare with power that He is Lord over all, and He offers eternal life freely to sinners who will surrender to Him in humble, repentant faith.
